Risk for brush fires, very dry weather continues with record highs likely

The dry weather continues, and with lots of sunshine a record high is likely for today. Forecast highs are in the mid and upper 70s with the record high being 76 set in 1963. At this point there is no rain in sight. A cold front will pass Long Island Wednesday night, but all of the moisture will remain in Northern New York. Temperatures will cool toward the weekend. Right now, we are in abnormally dry drought conditions. Please be careful with open flames as brush fires are possible.
TODAY: Patchy morning fog. Mostly sunny and warm with a high near 78. Record High is 76 set in 1963.
TONIGHT: Mostly clear, with a low around 55. Southwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening. Some patchy fog.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 76. Calm wind becoming southeast 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Record high is 77 set in 1979.
Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 53.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 72.
Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 52.
Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 64.
Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 42.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 61.
