Very warm temps continue for another day; more seasonable weather returns Wednesday night

HEADLINES:
• Islip set a new record high of 77 degrees Monday, breaking the old record of 76 degrees set in 2017.
• Tuesday has another chance to tie or break the record high set back in 1979 at 77 degrees.
• The week is still very dry, sunny and warm to start off.
• Cooler weather returns Wednesday night through the end of the week.
Very warm weather continues to control our afternoons on Long Island for the next couple of days. High pressure will continue to provide dry and quiet conditions and limit any moisture.
With the passing cold front on Tuesday night, temperatures may cool down to near-seasonable, but rain chances are still very absent in the several days.
By Wednesday night, clouds will begin to develop but skies will still be mainly open through the next few days.
Into the weekend, outdoor plans are still great, expect it to be right around what it should feel like during the fall, but we could see warmer weather returning in the last week of October.
FORECAST:
OVERNIGHT: Mostly clear and cool with some patchy fog. Lows in the mid-50s.
TUESDAY: Another sunny and warm day. Highs in the mid-70s. Lows at night will be in the mid- to low 50s.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny and not as warm. Highs will be near 70 degrees.
THURSDAY: Cooler and mostly sunny. Highs in the mid-60s. Lows in the low 40s.
FRIDAY: A mix of sun and clouds and near seasonable. Highs in the low 60s. Lows in the upper 40s.
