Antonio Fischetti has spent years creating ways to beautify his West Islip backyard. In February, he and his son-in-law, Christian Berio, launched their own business, the Fence Pot.
"His house looks like a garden, but there's actually no grass or soil, and it's all because of the fence pot he created," said Christian. "I love my family, and I watched him tinkering in his garage for ten years. I recently lost my mother, and he may not have much time to do it. I said, let's make this a business."
The patented Fence Pot has gained attention on social media. They manufacture their product inside a Bay Shore factory and have sold over 10,000 Fence Pots. It is shipped internationally. "Being made in America is great, but being made in our backyard is even better."
It's a family business. Christian loves getting everyone involved to support Antonio's dreams, which blossomed so quickly.
"It makes him so proud — he did something, tinkered in his garage for ten years — someone paid attention, and now he's getting recognized for it," said Christian.
